Rasuna Said infrastructure upgrade targeted for completion before Jakarta Anniversary

Special Staff for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, stated that the Rasuna Said area in South Jakarta is targeted to be 100% completed before Jakarta’s Anniversary on 22 June 2026.

“Infrastructure improvements in the Rasuna Said area are targeted for completion before Jakarta’s Anniversary,” Chico stated when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

He noted that although the area’s development is not yet fully complete, Rasuna Said is now deemed more suitable for public use, particularly for exercise ahead of the Car Free Day (CFD) event on 7 June 2026.

Chico revealed that following various evaluations, the CFD in Rasuna Said will be held regularly from early June 2026.

According to him, the Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Transportation Department and relevant local government agencies, conducted on-site evaluations after the inaugural CFD event in the area.

“Evaluations on the impact of mobility, resident comfort, crowd management, and cleanliness have been carried out,” Chico explained.

He further stated that the evaluations were largely positive, as they benefited public spaces and the environment.

The findings are expected to improve the CFD’s implementation in Rasuna Said, making it more conducive than previous iterations.

“We are confident that the June implementation will proceed better, providing a comfortable open space for Jakarta residents,” Chico concluded.
