Rape Suspect Confesses to Assaulting Student in Makassar After Being Arrested in Surabaya

As reported by detikSulsel, the confession was made by the perpetrator after his arrest at Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday (16/5). In a video that has been circulating, the perpetrator is seen inside a car with several police officers.

One of the police officers sitting next to the perpetrator initially asked about his origin. Feri claimed to be from Bulukumba Regency and stated that he was looking for work in Surabaya.

“(The purpose of coming to Surabaya) is to find odd jobs,” said Feri, answering a question from one of the police officers, as quoted by detikSulsel on Sunday (17/5/2026).

The perpetrator was then asked about the reason for his arrest. The perpetrator stammered and admitted to abducting and raping the victim.

“I tied her up and then assaulted her, sir. Yes (raped), sir. For one day, I raped her,” said the perpetrator to the police.

The perpetrator had previously abducted and raped the victim in Makassar from Friday (8/5) to Sunday (10/5). This incident occurred after the victim was tricked through a fake job advertisement on social media, where she was offered a babysitting position.
