RANS Management Denies Money Laundering Rumours
The management of PT RANS Entertainment Indonesia Tbk. (RANS) has denied circulating allegations that the media and entertainment company owned by Raffi Ahmad is linked to money laundering. RANS Chief Commissioner Darwin Cyril Noerhadi stated that the company had followed strict rules throughout its initial public offering (IPO) process.
Cyril explained that RANS, as a publicly listed company, had passed a series of requirements set by regulators such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). “So if there is any question of money laundering, that is perhaps more rumour than fact,” he said at a press conference following the RANS IPO at the IDX building in Jakarta on Friday, 10 July 2026.
According to Cyril, there are three aspects RANS had to fulfil before listing its shares publicly. The first is legal transparency. “Every transaction must be evidenced with a legal aspect, notarial documents, and so on,” he said.
The next aspect concerns accounting transparency. He stated that RANS’s bookkeeping had been clearly presented through a process compliant with the applicable rules. The last aspect is information disclosure.
Regarding information disclosure, Cyril explained that the company met the standard for revealing share ownership data of more than 1 per cent of total shares outstanding. This requirement had previously drawn the attention of the global index provider Morgan Stanley Capital International.
The company also met another IPO requirement, namely the minimum free float rule — shares in circulation that are freely tradable must be at least 15 per cent. “RANS meets that requirement. In terms of information disclosure, the number of RANS shares in circulation exceeds 20 per cent,” he said.
RANS Chief Executive Nagita Slavina expressed gratitude for Cyril’s explanation. “Because I feel that if the clarification came from me and Raffi, it might seem less objective. But coming from Mr Cyril, it should open people’s eyes to what actually happened,” she said.
Rumours linking Raffi Ahmad to money laundering have surfaced several times. In 2024, the issue caused a public stir when he was alleged to be involved in money laundering offences aired by National Corruption Watch (NCW) in a video broadcast on its official YouTube channel. Raffi immediately denied the allegation at a press conference on 5 February 2024.
Meanwhile, RANS only recently carried out its IPO on the Indonesian stock exchange on 10 July 2026. Raffi’s company became the eighth to list on the exchange since the start of 2026. The company targeted funds of Rp429.25 billion from this IPO.
The entertainment company will use the funds for several purposes, including staging concerts, acquiring shares in PT Rans Kosmetika Indonesia, and building the Cipungland play and learning attraction.
