Rano Karno: Jakarta Residents Refuse Relocation to Low-Cost Flats Following Kebon Kosong Fire

The Jakarta Provincial Government is currently seeking solutions to relocate victims of the fire in Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Deputy Governor Rano Karno stated that while the administration has offered residents relocation to Jakarta-owned low-cost flats (rusun), the proposal was rejected by the community.

Speaking after inspecting the fire site in Kemayoran on Tuesday, Rano Karnorkan noted that the area has a long history. He expressed his commitment to resolving the issue, particularly regarding the legal status of land ownership. He explained that residents are reluctant to move because of their deep-rooted ancestral ties to the Kemayoran area.
