Rano Karno Invites Residents to Submit Complaints Directly to City Hall
Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno has invited all Jakarta residents to submit complaints and aspirations directly at the terrace of the Pendopo at Jakarta City Hall.
The statement was made by Rano when asked whether there were any complaints from the public during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah silaturahmi event.
“Actually, if it’s about aspirations (complaints), we open it every day from Monday to Thursday; if there’s anything to report, please do so,” said Rano at the Pendopo of Jakarta City Hall on Saturday, 21 March 2026.
The Jakarta Provincial Government held a silaturahmi event with Jakarta residents on the first day of Lebaran 2026. Observations at the location showed that from the opening at 1:00 p.m. WIB until closing at 2:10 p.m. WIB, a number of residents came and went in turns.
One Jakarta resident, Karina Eka Dwi Salim, who attended the event, complained about the short duration. The meeting with Jakarta’s leaders was deemed not to meet expectations.
“It was too rushed, so there was no chance to chat or convey a message,” said Karina when met at the Pendopo of Jakarta City Hall on Saturday, 21 March 2026.
She explained that the duration of the greeting with Pramono Anung and Rano Karno today was very short, not even more than 2 minutes. In fact, the time needed to get the opportunity to meet could be longer than that.
Karina and her son arrived at the Pendopo of Jakarta City Hall around 12:45 p.m. WIB and joined the queue at 1:15 p.m. WIB. “We got the chance to shake hands and take a photo around 1:50 p.m. WIB,” said the resident from Central Jakarta.
She understands if the Jakarta Governor or his deputy have other agendas. However, as a member of the public, she hopes that in the future, the silaturahmi agenda can also serve as a medium for the public to convey aspirations.
“I wanted to convey a message that the Transjakarta shelter at Rawasari is still not inclusive, but it couldn’t be conveyed,” said the 42-year-old woman.
