Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno wants Jakarta’s stadiums managed like Milan’s San Siro stadium. He also aims for Jakarta’s stadiums to unite two football clubs, similar to Inter Milan and AC Milan.

“San Siro is unique—a single stadium that brings together two major clubs, Inter Milan and AC Milan. Meanwhile, I apologise, Persija and Persib are still at odds,” Rano said at Pos Bloc area in Jakarta on Saturday (30 May 2026).

“This phase must be past, as sports should be sporting,” he added.

Rano stated Jakarta must learn from San Siro’s professional stadium management system. He noted San Siro is not only used for football matches but also maximised for arts and entertainment events.

“In business terms, arts events, economic or business music performances generate far higher income than league matches,” he said.

However, San Siro’s usage is highly scheduled. Rano revealed anyone wishing to host a show there must book well in advance.

“If you want to use San Siro for any show, it must be booked two years in advance. So it can’t be like here, where JIS is full so move to GBK, GBK is full so where to go, that’s not possible anymore,” Rano said.

Therefore, he desires Jakarta’s stadiums to be managed like San Siro. He believes San Siro is well-managed.

“That is proper management, which we should learn from,” he said.
