Rano Expresses Confidence in Pramono's New York Visit Yielding Significant Results

Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno has spoken regarding the visit of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to New York, United States. Rano is confident that Pramono will bring back many ‘souvenirs’ following the visit.

Rano made these remarks when met in the Monas area, Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/09/2026). He was asked what Pramono would bring home after departing for New York.

“Looking at the photos from yesterday’s bilateral meeting with the Mayor, I am very certain he will return with quite a lot of souvenirs,” said Rano.

Rano noted that these ‘souvenirs’ would be the tangible results of the meetings and visits conducted in New York.

It is known that Pramono Anung undertook a working visit to New York, USA, to fulfil an invitation from New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani. Pramono attended the Urban 20 (U20) Mayors Summit 2026 from 19–21 September 2026.

Pramono also held bilateral meetings with Zohran Mamdani to discuss several issues related to urban management.

One of the key issues addressed during Pramono’s visit to New York was transportation. He was also reported to have discussed congestion, public transport management, and municipal bonds.
