Rano: CIEIE Indonesia 2026 to help Jakarta MSMEs expand networks

Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno has said the international trade event China International E-Commerce Industry Expo (CIEIE) Indonesia 2026 will serve as a platform for Jakarta’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their business networks and meet international partners.

“This forum strengthens Indonesia–China economic and trade relations. This means it opens greater opportunities for Jakarta MSMEs to enter the international market, particularly China,” he said in an official statement on Monday.

CIEIE 2026 will be held on 3–5 September 2026 in Halls B–C, JIExpo Kemayoran.

The event brings together buyers, importers, distributors, retailers and marketplace sellers with suppliers, factories and brand owners from various categories.

In a single visit, business actors can compare products, prices, minimum order quantities (MOQ), samples and cooperation opportunities.

“The hope is that the holding of CIEIE does not stop at being merely an exhibition, but produces concrete cooperation, new investment, broader market access and business opportunities for Jakarta MSMEs,” Rano said.

Rano said the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to encourage its fostered micro, small and medium enterprises to penetrate the global market.

As a concrete step, the Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to send 23 curated MSMEs to the China International SME Fair (CISMEF) 2026 in Guangzhou, China, on 3–6 September 2026.

The participation of these business actors is packaged through the Choose Jakarta programme.

Previously, three Jakarta-assisted MSMEs participated in the China Food Trade Fair in March 2026.

Promotional efforts in the international market also include facilitating business meetings with global buyers, importers, distributors and retailers.

Rano said strengthening the export competitiveness of MSMEs is an important part of Jakarta’s economic transformation.

The processing industry sector was recorded as contributing around 11.13 percent to Jakarta’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 2025.

Going forward, the direction of Jakarta’s industrial development is focused on developing high-value-added and high-technology industries that apply environmentally friendly principles.

This development is also integrated with the modern services sector and the halal ecosystem.
