Random musings on the BPKP
From Bisnis Indonesia
I don't quite know how good the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP) is at auditing ministries, non-ministerial government institutions and state-owned enterprises. Perhaps, the result of these audits show indications of irregularities in these institutions.
Then what about the work of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), an institution doing a job similar to BPKP?
Don't these two institutions find themselves competing with each other to get auditing jobs at a number of ministries and state-owned enterprises?
It stands to reason that lay people have suggested the two agencies be merged, as both have the same mission and vision in auditing government institutions and state-owned enterprises.
Hopefully, the BPKP will continue to improve and will never compromise with government agencies allegedly involved in siphoning off state funds.
