Natuna (ANTARA) - The Class II TPI Ranai Immigration Office in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province, deported two Malaysian nationals for violating residence permits in Indonesia.

Head of the Class II TPI Ranai Immigration Office, Wahyu Purwanto, confirmed from Natuna on Friday that the deportation was carried out on Friday via Batam City using sea transportation.

The two foreign nationals, initials MF (42) and F (29), were deported after being found to have misused their residence permits.

“They were proven to have committed immigration violations as stipulated in Article 122 paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration,” he said.

The presence of the two foreign nationals came to light after the Immigration Office received reports from the public regarding suspicious activities by foreigners in the area. After further investigation and examination, the report was confirmed to be true.

In addition to deportation, the two foreign nationals have also been proposed for inclusion on the blacklist or watchlist, preventing them from re-entering Indonesian territory for six months.

He emphasised that the action also aims to provide a deterrent effect and prevent similar violations in the future.

“The Ranai Immigration Office will not tolerate foreign nationals who violate immigration laws in Indonesian territory,” he stated.
