The ramp door of the KMP Perkasa Prima V broke while the vessel was unloading at the LCM Pier of Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana Regency. The incident caused a bulk cement tanker truck to become trapped in the doorway.

The event occurred yesterday afternoon at around 3:15 p.m. local time. At the time of the incident, the ship, captained by Wahyu Harinadi, had just docked and was in the process of disembarking passengers and vehicles.

‘The ramp door broke just as it was the turn for the bulk cement tanker truck to disembark from the KMP Perkasa Prima V,’ said Gilimanuk Port Police Chief AKP Gusti Kade Alit Murdiasa.

The tanker truck, with registration number B 9395 KFU, was driven by Sugiman, a resident of Boyolali, Central Java. The truck was travelling from Ketapang to Denpasar, Bali.

Despite causing panic when the door broke, no casualties or injuries were reported. In addition to the stuck tanker, the ship was carrying four other trucks inside its hull.

Handling efforts were carried out yesterday afternoon to remove the remaining vehicles from the ship. The operation involved pulling the vehicles using an excavator.

‘Handling was carried out by pulling with an excavator, and subsequently the ramp door of the KMP Perkasa Prima V was run over by the excavator in order to extract the four remaining vehicles inside the ship,’ Murdiasa concluded.
