Ramos to boost ties with OIC
MANILA (AFP): Philippine President Fidel Ramos said yesterday
he would discuss boosting economic ties with India as well as
Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) issues during his South
Asian and Middle East tour.
Speaking ahead of his swing next month, Ramos said India's
economy was expanding rapidly and that there "could be much
complimentarity between our two economies." He did not however
specify the areas where the two countries could work together.
Ramos will also visit Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar and Bahrain
as they are "important players in the OIC," he said adding that
some were also influential "in the oil community, so there are
many things we have to talk about."
