Ramos returns from overseas trip
MANILA (AFP): President Fidel Ramos returned here yesterday from a six-day working visit to Singapore and Saudi Arabia in a continuing effort to promote bilateral ties and invite investors to the Philippines.
Ramos flew to Manila aboard a Philippine Airlines commercial flight from Saudi Arabia, where he held meetings with King Fahd, Saudi officials and members of a large Filipino community.
The Philippine leader thanked the Saudi Arabian government for its hospitality and support to the peace talks with Moslem rebels in the southern Philippines.
Before flying to Saudi Arabia, Ramos first visited Singapore, where he addressed the Europe-East Asia business summit sponsored by the World Economic Forum and witnessed the signing of several business agreements.
