Rambutan Tree Falls on House in Bogor Amid Strong Winds

A rambutan tree fell onto the porch of a resident’s house in Bogor Tengah, Bogor City. The tree came down because it was decayed and amid strong winds.

“ A rambutan tree fell onto the porch of a resident’s house in Babakan sub-district, Bogor Tengah,” said Dimas Tiko Prahadisasongko, head of Bogor City’s Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), on Wednesday (21 October 2026).

Dimas said the tree was reported to have fallen during strong winds at around 4pm local time. Its fall damaged the roof of the house’s porch.

“The tree fell because its trunk was decayed, combined with strong winds. The only damage to the building was to the porch,” Dimas said.

Dimas confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries. BPBD personnel have evacuated the tree that fell onto the house.

“There were no deaths or injuries. The fallen tree has been cleared. The occupants are still living in the house because it remains safe to occupy,” Dimas said.
