Ramayana opens in Depok

JAKARTA (JP): The publicly-listed PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa retail chain opened a new store at the Plaza Depok shopping center at Depok town, 25 kilometers south of the capital, yesterday.

Different from most of its other 32 outlets in Java, Bali and Batam island near Singapore, the Ramayana department store in Depok also features a supermarket to serve the rapidly expanding housing complexes in that town.

"We invested Rp 30 billion (US$12.8 million) in our Depok outlet which occupies 13,000 square meters of the Plaza Depok shopping center," said Ramayana's General Affairs Director Setyadi Surya yesterday, adding that new outlets in several other areas in Java and other islands are under preparations.
