Ramayana opens 59th store

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa, the
owner and operator of Ramayana department stores, opened
yesterday a new retail outlet in the Pondok Gede Market, Bekasi.

The new outlet, on a 4,000-square-meter plot, is the 59th

The company's public relations director, Setyadi Surya, said
he was optimistic the new store would reach its Rp 8 billion
(US$2.8 million) sales target by the end of the year.

Ramayana, a retail chain for the middle-to-lower market
segment, focuses on the marketing of domestic products.

It has 24 stores in Jakarta and 35 stores in major cities
throughout the country, including Bandung, Semarang, Malang,
