Ramayana opens 59th store

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa, the owner and operator of Ramayana department stores, opened yesterday a new retail outlet in the Pondok Gede Market, Bekasi.

The new outlet, on a 4,000-square-meter plot, is the 59th Ramayana outlet in the country.

The company's public relations director, Setyadi Surya, said he was optimistic the new store would reach its Rp 8 billion (US$2.8 million) sales target by the end of the year.

Ramayana, a retail chain for the middle-to-lower market segment, focuses on the marketing of domestic products.

It has 24 stores in Jakarta and 35 stores in major cities throughout the country, including Bandung, Semarang, Malang, Surabaya, Denpasar and Batam. (08)
