Ramadhan 2026 Fasting Schedule for West Jakarta: Thursday 12 March – Note the Sahur Times

JAKARTA – Muslims in West Jakarta will resume fasting for Ramadhan 1447 Hijriah on Thursday, 12 March 2026. The imsakiyah schedule (dawn and iftar times) serves as an important guide to ensure the fasting ritual is observed at the correct times.

Each region, including Jakarta, has its own imsakiyah schedule and prayer times to ensure fasting is conducted punctually. The following are the imsakiyah and prayer times for Jakarta on 22 Ramadhan 1447 H (Thursday, 12 March 2026).

The Government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has established that the beginning of fasting for 1 Ramadhan 1447 Hijriah falls on Thursday, 19 February 2026. This decision was made following an Isbat session held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon (17 February 2026), chaired by Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar.

The determination was made because the hilal (crescent moon) was not observed on Tuesday, in line with the forecast by the Ministry’s Astronomical Calculation and Moon Sighting Team (Tim Hisab Rukyat Kemenag), which indicated that the moon’s position did not meet the MABIMS (Majlis Agama Islam Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapura) visibility criteria.

This difference does not diminish the validity of the worship, and all Muslims are urged to respect one another. The Isbat session involved various Islamic organisations, astronomical experts, and scientific institutions, and was conducted using an integrated method combining astronomical calculation (hisab) and moon sighting (rukyah) to maintain uniformity whilst respecting the diversity of methods practised across society.
