PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk, together with PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk, organised an iftar for 1,000 orphans at the At-Thohir Mosque in Cimanggis, Depok, on Friday 6 March 2026. In addition to breaking the fast, the event also featured a sermon, donations to the orphans, and a food bazaar that enlivened the Ramadan atmosphere. Under the theme ‘Ramadan Strengthens Ties, Fosters Compassion, Reaps Blessings’, the activity served as a moment to strengthen togetherness while spreading benefits to the community. The Patron of the Amanah Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) and Vice President Commissioner of PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk, Garibaldi ‘Boy’ Thohir, said the activity is the company’s annual tradition of sharing happiness in the holy month. ‘Alhamdulillah, for the umpteenth time the Adaro Group and AlamTri have again organised an iftar for orphans from the Jabodetabek area,’ said Boy Thohir. He said the activity also represents the company’s care amid the dynamics and uncertainties of the global environment. Through this sharing activity, the company hopes to bring happiness to the orphans so they can observe Ramadan with joyful spirits. Mr Thohir noted that the sharing tradition has lasted 14 years since it was first held in 2011. That consistency, he said, reflects the company’s commitment to continually distribute part of its fortune to the community. He hopes the activity will foster the orphans’ enthusiasm, optimism, and self-confidence to achieve a better future. ‘Insha’Allah, the orphans’ prayers are very benevolent. May this activity bring blessings to us all,’ he said. Bringing a Pleasant Ramadan Atmosphere: Mr Thohir added that every event with the orphans is designed to create a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. One example is that it does not serve boxed meals as is common at Iftar events, but instead offers a range of foods through the food bazaar. ‘The aim is for the children to choose the meals they like and truly enjoy the happiness of Ramadan,’ he said. The event also involved various subsidiaries of Adaro and AlamTri, including PT Saptaindra Sejati, which employs around 10,000 staff. Beyond Ramadan sharing activities, Adaro and AlamTri run a range of social programmes focused on developing human resources. Some include the PAUD Berkarakter programme, distribution of 10,000 school uniform packs, and a Nutrition Improvement Programme for PAUD students in the company’s operational areas. The nutrition improvement programme provides healthy and nutritious meals for schoolchildren and is run under the coordination of the Amanah Bangun Negeri Foundation. Through these ongoing social programmes, Adaro and AlamTri hope to deliver tangible benefits to the community while supporting the emergence of an exceptional generation.
