The General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, paid a visit to Abuya Ahmad Muhtadi Dimyathi on Thursday, February 26th. The leader of the Roudlotul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Cidahu, Cadasari District, Pandeglang Regency, is known as one of the most prominent and respected religious figures in Banten Province.

This marked the first visit in PSI’s annual Ramadan agenda. Arriving around 3:10 PM, Kaesang was warmly welcomed by Abuya Muhtadi and several students. During the meeting, Kaesang conveyed greetings from the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to Abuya. “I am Kaesang, Pak Kiai. Earlier, during the journey here, Bapak (Jokowi) called me and asked me to convey his greetings to Pak Kiai,” said Kaesang.

During this visit, Kaesang expressed his pleasure at being warmly received. They spent approximately 30 minutes in conversation. He was accompanied by the Daily Chairman of the PSI’s Central Executive Board, Ahmad Ali, and several other PSI Central Executive Board officials. This Ramadan visit serves as an important moment in strengthening ties with Islamic boarding schools in various regions. The visit was carried out as a form of respect for religious teachers, kiais, and ulama who have long been guardians of the nation’s moral values.

On several occasions, Ahmad Ali emphasized that politics is not just about strategy and power, but also about mental strength and clarity of heart. “Politics is only for those with strong mental fortitude. Otherwise, they will falter. Let us make religious teachers, kiais, and ulama the strengtheners of our minds, the strengtheners of our hearts, the place where we seek guidance,” he said.

According to him, PSI understands that the strength of a party is not only measured by its electoral results but also by the moral quality of its cadres. By adopting religious values as a compass, PSI is committed to building ethical, polite, and inclusive politics. (I-1)

The former Regent of Indramayu, Nina Dai Bachtiar, met with Jokowi in Solo to seek approval to join PSI.

Will this new fact accelerate the ongoing legal process? Where will the resolution of this long-standing case, which has caused public unrest and division, lead?

Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) criticised the support for revising the KPK Law, which was expressed by the former 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo or Jokowi.

The statement by President Joko Widodo, mentioning his desire for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to return to the old Law, was considered nothing more than a political gimmick.

The statement by the 7th President, Joko Widodo or Jokowi, regarding the discourse on revising the Law on the Corruption Eradication Commission or revising the KPK Law, has drawn criticism and appears to be an attempt to evade responsibility, according to ICW.
