Ramadan this year is being leveraged by shopping centres to attract visitors through a combination of entertainment, shopping, and social activities. One such event is at Supermal Karawaci in Tangerang, which presents a programme titled Ramadan Pancarona from 19 February to 29 March 2026. The programme fuses cultural performances, family entertainment, and late-night discounts, with activities placed around the mall to create an evenly spread ngabuburit atmosphere.

Among the attractions is the Pancarona Parade & Tanoura Dance held on weekends from 28 February to 15 March 2026, and a meet-and-greet with cartoon characters Nussa and Rarra aimed at visiting children.

In addition to entertainment, the operator is staging a Super Midnight Sale on 14 March 2026 with Ramadan-specific promotions from tenants and a number of prize-based games. Religious music performances such as Rampak Bedug, Ramadan Acapella, and violin performances are also scheduled to fill key areas of the shopping centre.

Separately, social activities are part of the programme. On 4 March 2026, the operator will partner with Dompet Dhuafa in the event ‘Belanja Bareng Adik-Adik Hebat’. The invited children will shop for Ramadan needs while also enjoying entertainment and breaking fast together.

In collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa, attendees will shop for Ramadan necessities at Matahari, and be entertained with magic shows, singing by the South Tangerang Singers, Timezone games, and buka puasa with provisions from Paris Baguette, Beard Papa’s, Roti O, Bogana May May, Hokben, Mochi Mochio, Hop Hop, Ramen 1 and Teh Kotjok. The children will also receive goodie bags with toys from Timezone, a Quran from Gramedia, and clothing from Sogo.

Supermal Karawaci Director, Eddy Halim, stated that the programme is not only about economic transactions but also visitor experiences. ‘Ramadan at Supermal Karawaci is not just about shopping, but about creating beautiful memories and sharing happiness,’ he was quoted on Wednesday 4 March. ‘Through Ramadan Pancarona, we want to bring positive energy through art and entertainment. More than that, through Belanja Bareng Adik-Adik Hebat, we are committed to providing a meaningful shopping experience for children in need, so they can feel the warmth of the holy month with us,’ he added.
