Ramadan Spirit in the Holy Land: Nearly One Million Pilgrims Gather at the Grand Mosque
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKKAH — As the fourth day of Ramadan 1447 H/2026 begins, nearly one million pilgrims are in the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia. SPA reported on Tuesday (24/2/2026) that the Grand Mosque received over 904,000 pilgrims, reflecting the great enthusiasm of worshippers during the early days of the holy month.
With the arrival of pilgrims from various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad, the integrated service system ensures the smooth movement and comfort of all visitors. The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque carries out continuous operational and organizational efforts for 24 hours.
The integrated plan includes managing crowds, regulating the Tawaf and Sa’i routes, increasing cleaning and sterilization, and providing guidance and counseling services in various languages. All of these efforts are carried out to facilitate the performance of worship in a devout and peaceful manner.
The Two Holy Mosques Authority stated that the number of pilgrims recorded shows the great efforts made in deploying all human and technical resources to serve the pilgrims. The management also implements the highest standards of quality and operational efficiency, as well as crowd management planning designed to ensure safety and smooth flow throughout the Grand Mosque area.
These efforts are carried out through full coordination with related authorities to ensure a comprehensive spiritual experience, with preparations being continuously strengthened in anticipation of the surge in pilgrims during the last ten days of Ramadan.
These measures are part of the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors by providing a safe and organized environment so that pilgrims can perform their worship in a peaceful and protected atmosphere.
