Ramadan social activities have been conducted once more to assist communities through the distribution of various forms of assistance to residents across multiple regions. The programmes include distribution of basic food packages, provision of breaking-of-fast meals, allowances for orphans and disadvantaged groups, support for religious facilities, and joint homecoming programmes ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

The activities are implemented by Barito Pacific Group together with its subsidiaries and philanthropic organisation, the Bakti Barito Foundation, as part of the annual social programme during Ramadan. Executive Director of Bakti Barito Foundation Fifi Pangestu stated that Ramadan serves as an opportunity to strengthen social concern values and reinforce relationships with the community.

“The holy month of Ramadan has always been a moment to share and strengthen togetherness. We hope this assistance can bring blessings to recipient families whilst strengthening ties of kinship,” said Fifi in a written statement on Monday (16/3).

The social programme reaches communities in the operational regions of several group entities, including Chandra Asri Group, Barito Renewables, Star Energy Geothermal, Griya Idola, Petrindo Jaya Kreasi, Petrosea, and Indo Raya Tenaga, distributed across Jakarta, West Java, Banten, and various regions in Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua.

Throughout Ramadan this year, approximately 10,000 packages of basic necessities including rice, sugar, instant noodles, coffee, tea, and tinned sardines have been distributed to communities.

In addition, 2,500 breaking-of-fast meal packages have been distributed to residents across various regions. The programme is complemented by 400 packages of religious equipment and facilities as well as allowances for approximately 700 orphans. Overall, the social activities have reached approximately 15,000 beneficiaries across various regions.

For local residents, the sharing programme has become an eagerly anticipated annual activity. Sugianto, a recipient of assistance from RW 04, Kelurahan Slipi, stated that the basic food package assistance is greatly helpful for his family’s needs during Ramadan. He hopes the activity will continue in future years as it provides direct benefits to the community.

Beyond distribution of social assistance, the programme also includes provision of breaking-of-fast meals for surrounding communities, provision of religious equipment for mosques, and joint homecoming programmes for employees and community members wishing to return to their hometowns ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Through this series of activities, the organisers hope that the spirit of social concern and mutual cooperation among the community can be sustained whilst providing tangible benefits to residents in the company’s operational regions.
