Ramadan Silaturahmi: Police Chief urges the public to uphold unity
Let us all work together to safeguard unity so that our beloved country can continue to stand firm, said the Police Chief, as quoted in an official release. Listyo delivered these remarks during a Ramadan Silaturahmi at the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat) in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday. He said the message to maintain unity is always delivered on various occasions, noting that recent global dynamics have prompted heightened attention. “Of course, our message remains that the situation we are facing and the global impacts we are experiencing require us to stand together in unity. That is the key to maintaining the stability of public order and safety (kamtibmas),” he said. He added that with security and public order maintained, all government programmes for the advancement and welfare of the nation can proceed smoothly. “Whatever we face, Indonesia must be able to implement its programmes. The government must be able to fulfil its mandate to support development and growth, and of course to prosper its people, and we can all get through this if we are united,” he said. The head of the Bhayangkara Corps also assessed that Indonesia has successfully weathered several internal challenges. He credited this success to the synergy and collaboration among all Indonesians. “We have faced various situations. We hope the current global situation will end soon, and the government is continuing to strive to actively resolve the conflicts that exist so that peace can emerge,” he said. The Ramadan Silaturahmi event was also attended by Forkopimda, religious leaders, community leaders, cultural or artistic figures, workers’ unions or labour representatives, community organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), the press, and student representatives.
