Chief of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo today conducted a Ramadan Silaturahmi at the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat). In this event, the Chief Police gave special attention to the Rumah Tidak Layak Huni (Rutilahu) housing construction programme as a tangible manifestation of the state’s presence in the community.

The event, which carried the theme ‘Together Building the Nation, Polri for the People’, was held at the Mapolda Jabar’s Apel Field, on Wednesday (4 March 2026). The Chief Police was accompanied by Kabaintelkam Polri Komjen Yuda Gustawan, As SDM Kapolri Irjen Anwar, Aslog Kapolri Irjen Suwondo Nainggolan, Kadivpropam Polri Irjen Abdul Karim, Kadivhumas Polri Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir.

Also present were KH Ahmad Muwafiq or Gus Muwafiq, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, West Java Police Chief Irjen Rudi Setiawan together with police and city/district police leadership (PJU Kapolresta/Kapolrestabes Polda Jabar), Commander of Military Region III/Siliwangi Major General Kosasih, West Java Attorney Hermon Dekristo, and other Forkopimda of West Java. Religious leaders, community leaders, artists, workers’ union representatives, mass organisations, students, and ojol kamtibmas community members were also in attendance.

The Ramadan Silaturahmi was not only attended by participants at the Mapolda Jabar; the event was also followed virtually via Zoom by personnel at 23 Polresta-Polrestabes under Polda Jabar.

After listening to a religious sermon and joint prayers led by Gus Muwafiq, the breaking of the fast was held. General Sigit performed the symbolic handover of the keys for the Rutilahu housing improvement programme recipients as a sign of Polri’s care for the community.

According to data, there are 168 Rutilahu units spread across 23 West Java regions. To date, 67 units have been completed and 101 units are still in progress.

General Sigit handed over the keys to the beneficiaries of the Rutilahu improvement programme as a manifestation of Polri’s concern for society.

In addition to handing over the keys, General Sigit also provided charity to 150 orphans. The aid consisted of basic necessities packaged for representatives of the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) kamtibmas community who attended. The packages contained staples such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and coffee and tea.

‘This development aims to improve living standards and social welfare, especially for those in need,’ he said. General Sigit also expressed special appreciation for the West Java Police for programmes that touch the lives of the lower classes.

‘I welcome the West Java Police’s efforts to hold a breaking of the fast together with involvement from all elements and national figures so that we can collectively pray and strive to pray for the world’s situation and the nation, and to face the global situation with continued gotong royong to address various implications that will impact domestic conditions,’ the Kapolri said.

He emphasised the importance of prayer and collective effort in facing the global dynamics full of uncertainty, such as rising world oil prices and geopolitical tensions. He stated that togetherness is the key to maintaining security and public order (kamtibmas), so that government programmes to improve people’s welfare can continue.

During this event, the Kapolri also reminded his ranks in Polda Jabar to always listen to the people’s aspirations for the progress of the institution.

‘Ensure the presence of Polri is truly felt by continually maintaining the spirit of “Polri Close to the People,” so that Polri can become closer to and more loved by the public,’ he asserted.

Concluding his remarks, the Kapolri urged all elements in West Java to maintain the spirit of ‘Sauyunan Jaga Lembur’ to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.
