Ramadan Silaturahmi in West Java: Police Chief Encounters Ulama, Workers, and the Ojol Community
West Java Regional Police Headquarters, the Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led a Ramadan Silaturahmi at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters. The event, themed ‘Together Building the Nation, Polri for the People’, was held at the Mapolda Jabar Parade Ground on the afternoon of Wednesday, 4 March 2026. The arrival of the Police Chief and his entourage was warmly welcomed, with a rampak drum performance. The Police Chief was accompanied by Kabaintelkam Polri General Yuda Gustawan, Assistant for Human Resources to the Police Chief Irjen Anwar, Assistant for Logistics to the Police Chief Irjen Suwondo Nainggolan, Head of the Propam Division Irjen Abdul Karim, and Head of Public Relations Division Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir. Present were West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, West Java Police Chief Irjen Rudi Setiawan along with PJU of the West Java Police, and the regional military commander (Pangdam III/Siliwangi) Major General Kosasih, West Java Attorney Hermon Dekristo, and other Forkopimda. Also present were religious figures, community leaders, artists, workers unions, organisations, students, and the ojol KamTibmas community. The Ramadan Silaturahmi was not only attended by participants at the West Java Police Headquarters; it was also followed virtually via Zoom by personnel at 23 Polresta-Polrestabes under the West Java Police. The event is ongoing; the Police Chief and colleagues listened attentively to a religious sermon (tausiyah) and prayers led by Gus Muwafiq, ending with breaking of fast together. In the Silaturahmi programme, General Sigit is scheduled to hand over keys to recipients of the Rumah Tidak Layak Huni improvement programme (Rutilahu), reflecting Polri’s care for the public. Thirty units of Rutilahu have been renovated. Symbolically, the Police Chief will hand over the house keys to those present. In addition to handing over Rutilahu keys, General Sigit also gave donations to 150 orphans. Food aid packages were also provided to representatives of the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) KamTibmas community in attendance. The packages contained staples such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and coffee and tea.
