Jakarta (ANTARA) — West Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polrestro Jakbar) have deployed 34 monitoring posts at vulnerable points across the district during this year’s Ramadan.

“We have placed these monitoring posts in zones with potential vulnerabilities, such as street brawls, illegal racing, and other street crime risks,” said West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi when contacted in Jakarta on Monday.

The monitoring post locations are spread across Tamansari, Tambora, Grogol Petamburan, Kalideres, Cengkareng, Kebon Jeruk, Kembangan, and Palmerah.

“The presence of personnel in the field is expected to minimise disruptions to public order and security, and to accelerate response times when situations require the presence of officers,” he said.

He further disclosed that the Ramadan monitoring posts are staffed by joint personnel from the three-pillar system, comprising the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and the local government.

“With these 34 posts in place, we hope that the public order and security situation in West Jakarta remains conducive, so that residents can carry out their fasting worship with full tranquillity, devotion, and a sense of safety,” he said.
