Ramadan Patrol in Bogor's Megamendung District: Police Seize Dozens of Alcohol Bottles
Police conducted patrols to prevent security disturbances and maintain public order in the Megamendung area of Bogor, West Java. During the operation, officers seized dozens of bottles of illegal alcohol.
“The police successfully secured 30 bottles of alcohol from 3 locations within the Megamendung Police Precinct jurisdiction,” said Megamendung Police Chief AKP Desi Triana on Sunday (15 March 2026).
The patrols ran from Saturday (14 March) evening until early morning. Despite existing prohibitions on alcohol sales during Ramadan, some vendors continue to breach regulations.
“In conducting this operation, we aim to prevent alcohol-fuelled parties, criminal activities, theft, street fights, illegal racing, and organised gang activities in the field,” she stated.
During the operation, police also provided information to the public about emergency services through the 110 hotline. Officers also urged youth groups gathering in the area to return home at reasonable hours.
“This action is conducted as part of law enforcement efforts against public order and safety violations, and the abuse of alcohol, narcotics, and illegal drugs,” she said.
Patrols will be conducted every evening throughout Ramadan. She urged members of the public who observe security disturbances to report them immediately to police.
“This action is part of the police’s efforts to maintain order and security in the region. We will continue to conduct patrols and take firm action against violations, including alcohol abuse by minors,” she concluded.
