Jakarta – In marking the sacred month of Ramadan 1447H, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to giving through various social programmes, ranging from support for orphans to educational assistance.
To welcome the blessings of Ramadan 1447H, Bank Rakyat Indonesia is implementing various corporate social responsibility programmes as a demonstration of concern for the community. Through several initiatives, BRI seeks to deliver tangible benefits whilst strengthening values of solidarity during this blessed month.
Under the theme “Sharing Meaning for Indonesia”, BRI is distributing assistance to 8,500 orphans throughout Indonesia. Symbolically, assistance was provided to 500 children in the Jabodetabek region at an event held in Jakarta on Tuesday, 16 March 2026. The event was attended by Nasaruddin Umar, as well as BRI Chief Executive Officer Hery Gunardi and management officials.
In a coordinated effort, BRI also distributed assistance to another 8,000 children through regional offices spread across various areas in Indonesia.
At the same time, BRI provided basic food assistance and support to caretakers of Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, and distributed educational funds for Qur’an memorisation specialists (hafiz).
In his remarks, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar emphasised the importance of emulating values of wisdom in Islam, particularly regarding care and compassion for young people. He noted that assistance not only has material impact, but also provides hope and moral encouragement for children to continue learning and pursue their aspirations.
Meanwhile, BRI Chief Executive Officer Hery Gunardi stated that the company’s success is measured not only from the business perspective, but also from the extent to which it can benefit the community.
“This is about sharing hope in the Holy Month of Ramadan, where we not only carry out activities related to worship, but also provide assistance to Indonesian children. We believe that every child has different potential. We hope that one day, future leaders will emerge, teachers who inspire, entrepreneurs who empower society, and national leaders capable of bringing Indonesia towards a better future,” he said.
