Ramadan Momentum: Mardiono Urges Cross-Sector Synergy to Nurture Orphans
Muhamad Mardiono, Special Envoy of the President for Food Security, emphasised the government’s commitment to provide ongoing education and guidance for children in foster care institutions. He made the remarks during a Ramadan iftar with 10,000 orphans organised by the Rumah Yatim Foundation at Senayan City, Jakarta, on Friday, 6 March 2026. Mardiono sees the Ramadan moment as an entry point to strengthen the synergy between the government, the business sector, social organisations, and the wider community. ‘These children are the next generation of the nation. We must continue to provide motivation and encouragement so that they can reach their aspirations as high as possible,’ he said. On that occasion, Mardiono expressed his appreciation to all parties who had collaborated to organise the iftar with thousands of orphans. The man, who also serves as the General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the United Development Party (PPP), said that the event could serve as a model for society on the importance of social care and a spirit of togetherness. He stated that the synergy among social organisations, the business world, and the community in this activity is part of a joint effort to build a strong generation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. Therefore, he hopes such activities can continue. ‘Caring for children, especially those who require attention and support, is part of a collective endeavour to build a strong, empowered generation ready to greet the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision,’ Mardiono asserted.
