Ramadan Madani, Embracing Harmony: From Sabang to Merauke, PNM Spreads Kindness to Orphans and the Needy
Ramadan arrives as a month that strengthens intentions to increase deeds and spread care for others. This is clearly illustrated in a hadith: “The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of people, and he was more generous during the month of Ramadan.” (Hadith by Bukhari and Muslim).
The spirit of spreading blessings is also brought to life by PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) through a series of Ramadan activities titled “Ramadan Madani, Maknai Harmoni.”
Through a service network reaching 4,655 unit offices, 58 branches, and 36 provinces from Sabang to Merauke, PNM presents a range of Ramadan activities, including studies after Dhuhr, breaking fast together every day, itikaf, and charitable contributions to orphans and the poor.
For PNM, madani is not merely a word, but a commitment to continue delivering benefit to others. This value is realised by upholding etiquette, care, and mutual respect in every empowerment effort towards a total of 22.9 million customers served.
In the Ramadan context, besides activities that strengthen spiritual values in the workplace, PNM also spreads Ramadan blessings through charity activities for orphans and the poor organised by 58 branches across Indonesia.
Earlier, at the PNM Tower headquarters, children were invited to learn about the world of work through roleplay of working at PNM in various divisions. This experience gives children the opportunity to understand firsthand how PNM personnel carry out empowerment for ultra-micro, micro, and small entrepreneurs. The children undertake various simple activities that introduce the role of divisions in community empowerment.
Through educational games, this experience is hoped to cultivate enthusiasm and hope that every child has the opportunity to dream and contribute to others in the future.
One of the orphaned children who is a PNM Mekaar customer expressed happiness at the care given. “So happy to be given a range of things from snacks, money, to exciting experiences like this; it feels wonderful to have many big brothers and sisters who care about me.”
Secretary to the Corporate Secretary of PNM, Dodot Patria Ary, said that the Ramadan series of activities is part of PNM’s commitment to continue embedding the values of madaniaan in every empowerment step.
