During Ramadan, Pertamina (Persero) encourages Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their product marketing by actively participating in strategic exhibitions. In the Jakarta metropolitan area (Jabotabek), dozens of Pertamina-mentored MSMEs took part in three major activities. The active participation of these MSMEs earned Pertamina an award for its involvement and care for developing MSMEs so they become more empowered and competitive.

Muhammad Baron, Vice President for Corporate Communications at Pertamina (Persero), said Ramadan is a strategic moment to strengthen the role of MSMEs as the backbone of the national economy. During Ramadan, household consumption tends to rise, including for buka puasa dishes, clothing, worship equipment, and purchases of hampers or Lebaran gift baskets.

“By taking part in Ramadan exhibitions, Pertamina believes MSME products are more readily accepted by the public. Therefore, MSME participation opens broader market access so that local products are better known and highly competitive,” he said.

From 2–6 March 2026, around 20 mentored MSMEs and six other MSMEs joined Pertamina Small Medium Enterprise Expo (SMEXPO) Ramadan at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta. The MSMEs operate in the culinary, fashion, and jewellery sectors, making them popular among thousands of Pertamina employees.

“Exhibitions in office-building venues like this provide an opportunity to offer food and beverage products to workers who do not have time to prepare meals and drinks at home. Fashion and jewellery products are also selling well for Lebaran preparations or holidays,” Baron said.

Participation in MSME exhibitions continued at Dhawafest at the Ministry of Finance (4–6 March 2026), involving 12 MSMEs from the crafts, F&B, and Muslim fashion sectors. The exhibition is hosted within the ministry premises; it is visited not only by ministry staff but also by guests at the building.

At the opening of Dhawafest, on Wednesday (4/3/2026), Pertamina also received an award for its participation and care for MSME development. The award was presented by Ida Yulidina Purbaya to Priscilia Simon Mantiri, the Chairwoman of the Pertamina Patra Women’s Association.

From 5–8 March 2026, Pertamina also participated in the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) at ICE BSD City, Tangerang. Six MSMEs in the furniture and handicrafts sectors oriented towards export joined and marketed their products, including potential large-part marketing and overseas exports.

Pertamina will also participate in the Ramadan Bazaar of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), 10–12 March 2026, ahead of Lebaran. The fair will feature six MSMEs in the food and beverage sector and Muslim fashion. This participation is expected to strengthen synergy between the state-owned enterprises and the ministry in support of people’s economy while increasing sales opportunities during Ramadan.

“Through these exhibitions, Pertamina hopes participating MSMEs will gain tangible benefits such as higher turnover, expanded business networks, and improved capacity to meet the standards of broader markets. The MSME empowerment programme is part of Pertamina’s commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable national economic growth,” Baron said.

One MSME entrepreneur who felt the direct benefits is Kartini, owner of Pempek Syamil, Palembang, which participated in SMEXPO Ramadan at Grha Pertamina. She said the activity offered a great opportunity to introduce regional特色 products to a wider market.

“Their participation in SMEXPO Ramadan greatly helps expand our customer reach and increase sales. Pertamina’s support not only opens market access but also boosts our confidence to continue growing and competing,” Kartini said.

With the Ramadan Berkah spirit, Local Empowered, Pertamina is confident Indonesian MSMEs can continue to grow as an important pillar of the national economy while bringing local products to greater global recognition.
