Ramadan Blessing: Tangerang City Police Distribute Iftar and Share Meal with Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers
The month of Ramadan was marked by charitable activities, with the Tangerang City Metro Police distributing iftar with residents and sharing a breaking-of-fast meal with online motorcycle taxi drivers.
“Ramadan is an opportunity to strengthen unity. We want to be present amongst the community, particularly the motorcycle taxi drivers and community members who work on the roads every day helping residents with mobility,” said Head of Tangerang City Metro Police, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari, on Saturday (28/2/2026).
The charitable activity took place in front of the Tangerang City Metro Police headquarters on Friday (27/2) afternoon. Iftar packets were distributed to road users passing through Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan in Tangerang City.
The activity represented the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to caring for community members still working as the breaking-of-fast time approached. Hundreds of iftar packets were distributed directly by the Police Chief and senior officials of the police headquarters.
Following the iftar distribution, the activity continued with a communal breaking-of-fast meal at Al Fattah Mosque of the Tangerang City Metro Police headquarters. Approximately 550 people attended the event, comprising 350 motorcycle taxi drivers, 100 members of community policing groups (Pokdarkamtibmas), 50 members of the police communication unit (Senkom), and 50 Tangerang City Metro Police personnel.
Jauhari stated that the activity was not merely about sharing food for breaking-of-fast, but also served as a means to strengthen kinship ties and build good communication between the police and community.
According to him, the role of motorcycle taxi drivers and community members is crucial in maintaining environmental security stability. Good synergy will create a safe and conducive security situation in Tangerang City.
The activity was characterised by warmth and camaraderie. The breaking-of-fast meal proceeded in an atmosphere of strong family spirit as all participants sat together enjoying the iftar meal.
This opportunity is expected to further strengthen harmonious relations between the police and community, whilst serving as a charitable endeavour during the sacred month of Ramadan.
