The West Java Police Chief has rolled out a programme to construct 30 units of housing for underprivileged residents living in uninhabitable conditions (rutilahu) across several areas during Ramadan 2026. The programme is being implemented through regional police commands, including Bandung Police, as part of efforts to assist disadvantaged communities.

As a follow-up measure, Commissioner Aldi Subartono personally inspected a house earmarked for construction in Kampung Pasirsari Lebak, Patrolsari Village, Arjasari District, Bandung Regency. The inspection was carried out on Monday (23 February) to verify site readiness, administrative completeness, and the accuracy of beneficiary targeting.

The house to be built belongs to Enda (75), who has been living in a dwelling deemed to be in a dire and uninhabitable condition.

In addition, Commissioner Aldi also reviewed two other residents’ homes that had previously been completed through the rutilahu programme, belonging to Enjang (43) and Imas Tuti (39) respectively. The review was conducted to ensure construction quality and to assess the impact of the assistance on beneficiaries.

Bandung Police recorded that throughout 2026 it has built three units of habitable housing for underprivileged residents within its jurisdiction. The programme is described as part of the police force’s commitment to social and humanitarian activities.

He explained that the rutilahu programme is an implementation of the West Java Police Chief’s policy, which is said to be in line with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita programme and the National Police Chief’s directives, aimed at strengthening the role of the Indonesian National Police as protectors, guardians, and servants of the public. In total, 30 rutilahu units are targeted for construction across West Java during Ramadan 2026.

For the Bandung Regency area, field inspections have been completed and construction is said to be imminent. Commissioner Aldi also urged residents to maintain a spirit of mutual cooperation and to make the best use of the assistance to improve their families’ quality of life.

“This programme is a tangible expression of the National Police’s concern for underprivileged communities and support for the government’s programme in achieving social welfare. We hope this assistance can provide long-term benefits and further strengthen the bond between the police and the public,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (24 February 2026).
