Ramadan 1447 AH Celebrated as Dozens of Children Attend an Intensive Ramadan Pesantren at Masjid Nursiah Daud Paloh
MEDIA Group, together with Fun Garden of Literasi, organised an intensive Ramadan pesantren (short-term religious camp) attended by more than 40 children at Masjid Nursiah Daud Paloh. The event carried the theme ‘Ramadan Anak Hebat, Cinta Al-Qur’an & Gemar Berbuat Baik.’ The pesantren kilat was held to enliven Ramadan 1447 H and to provide a way for children and parents to strengthen togetherness and deepen their connection with Allah. Through the activities, participants were invited to fill the holy month with meaningful, educational, and enjoyable activities. The head of the event, Herfindo Satria, said most participants were children of employees working in the Media Group environment. ‘Most of the participants are children of Media Group staff, from Media Indonesia, Metro TV, Medcom, Indocarter, and others,’ he said, at the Media Group complex on Saturday, 7 March. During the pesantren kilat, participants took part in activities designed to be age-appropriate. Activities included Qur’an recitation (tadarus), Islamic storytelling, and science experiments presented in an engaging way. Through a combination of religious and educational activities, the committee hopes children will learn values of goodness while developing their curiosity. The Islamic stories, for example, were delivered in an interactive manner so the morals could be understood more easily by the participants. Herfindo noted that the pesantren kilat has long been a regular annual tradition during Ramadan organised by Media Group together with Fun Garden of Literasi. ‘Alhamdulillah, the materials delivered are always beneficial and entertaining for the children,’ he added. The pesantren kilat event lasted one day, from 09:00 to after the Asr prayer. Throughout the event, participants appeared enthusiastic as they followed each session prepared by the committee. It is hoped this activity will not only provide a fun learning experience for the children but also foster their love for the Qur’an and the spirit of continuing to do good in daily life. (H-3)
