A group named the Indonesian Children’s Nutrition Fighters held a demonstration in the Patung Kuda area of Central Jakarta, urging that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme be continued. Based on monitoring at the location on Thursday (18/6/2026), the crowd gathered in the Patung Kuda area from 13.30 WIB. They appeared dressed all in white, carrying banners and posters of their demands.

“We, the Indonesian Children’s Nutrition Fighters, young men and women from all regions of Indonesia, are here to fully support the programme of President Prabowo Subianto. It is simple, ladies and gentlemen, all Indonesian people. President Prabowo has a good, noble aspiration to provide nutritious food for Indonesian children,” said action coordinator Fahri at the location.

Fahri explained that they also requested that the MBG programme be jointly supervised. Nevertheless, he stressed that the MBG programme must continue. “We as the community see the need for oversight. This MBG can be supervised by every member of the community. For example, small chickens can be checked by the mothers. In every kitchen, it is mandatory for us, the citizens of Indonesia, to know how the kitchens operate. And the President has a noble intention. So, kitchens that are less competent we will oversee together. Yes. So, we must support the President’s great ambition to provide nutritious food and intake for the Indonesian people,” he said.

The crowd also expressed support for President Prabowo Subianto to take firm action against corruptors. According to Fahri, the demonstrators support all of Prabowo’s policies, especially those aimed at the lower classes. “We really must support the eradication of corruption. Regarding the MBG programme, we are specifically here, and also downstreaming, to give support to everything that is good and has an impact on the lower classes, the little people, that must be supported. Especially this MBG,” he said.

Fahri mentioned that the demonstrators also planned to meet with officials from the Ministry of State Secretariat. They intend to offer solutions for the implementation of the MBG programme. “Later, God willing, our presence here has received a good response from the government. We are here for a peaceful protest. We have been received by the State Secretariat, and coincidentally the Minister and Deputy Minister of State Secretariat have agreed to meet us. We will provide solutions. We will give support to the government for evaluation and other matters. We have been given space for discussion,” he said.
