Rajiv has reminded the public not to use profits from their harvests for consumptive purposes, but instead to develop their businesses so they can achieve economic independence in the future. He even joked that the public should not use the harvest proceeds to get married again. “Hopefully the results will be blessed, and the proceeds should not be used for getting married again, but to buy seeds and add more seeds. If necessary, not just seeds, but later they can independently have their own biofloc,” said Rajiv in his statement on Sunday (9/5/2026). This was conveyed by Rajiv while attending the thematic large-scale fish harvest activity with the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP) in Mekarsari Village, Cipongkor, West Bandung Regency, West Java, yesterday. Furthermore, this legislator from the West Java II electoral district emphasised that government assistance is intended as an initial stimulus so that beneficiary communities can become independent in the future. “If we help everything, they won’t become independent. First, prove to me that this year you can be independent, then next year we can help again,” said this DPR member from the NasDem Party Faction. Next, Rajiv also requested the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to provide training to improve the community’s capabilities in fish farming. “I have asked KKP to provide more training to increase the capacity and abilities of the community in fish farming. Perhaps if they are more diligent, the fish will be fat and the harvest can be abundant,” he added. Rajiv admitted to continuously monitoring the progress of aid recipients provided to the community as evaluation material, both for fish farmers and laying hen breeders. According to him, Mekarsari Village is the area with the most aid recipients for both laying hens and biofloc fish farming. “After I visit all the aid recipients, both laying hens and fish farming, in 3-4 months my team will come to check. Don’t tell me after I leave, the chickens are sold,” he revealed. Rajiv emphasised that the monitoring is not due to distrust of the community, but to hone skills and educate them to achieve economic independence in the future. “I’m checking to ensure, not because I don’t trust, but we want to teach so that the community is serious about improving their capabilities,” Rajiv stressed. Rajiv hopes that the local Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) can collaborate with Kopdes Merah Putih Mekarsari in providing fish to support the flagship programme of the Prabowo Subianto Administration, namely the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. “So that the results of community biofloc fish farming can be well absorbed and the benefits become even wider. I’m pleased to see that what we have assisted can produce results, especially the results for the people in this village, not for certain groups,” he concluded.
