Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction, Rajiv, believes that sport functions not only as a fitness activity but can also serve as a space to strengthen collaboration, build networks, and foster closer relationships within society. According to him, the values born from sport—such as sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of continuous improvement—play an important role in building positive social interactions in the community. He made these remarks while opening the GP NasDem Padel Cup organised by Garda Pemuda (GP) NasDem at Margot Padel, South Jakarta, on Saturday (27/6/2026). “For me, sport, especially padel, is not just about winning or losing. More than that, sport teaches sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of continuous growth,” said Rajiv. He explained that the GP NasDem Padel Cup is designed not only as a sporting competition but also as a platform to expand cooperation networks, strengthen brotherhood, and bring positive energy through physical activity. “This GP NasDem Padel Cup is a platform for building collaboration, strengthening brotherhood, and encouraging the public to live healthier lives,” he stated. Rajiv expressed hope that similar activities can continue to serve as meeting spaces for various communities, thereby strengthening the spirit of togetherness and expanding productive collaboration. According to him, sport also has the ability to unite people from various backgrounds in a healthy, competitive, and mutually respectful atmosphere. Beyond being a competition, the GP NasDem Padel Cup also carries the message that sport can be a means of building social closeness. The friendly atmosphere of the matches demonstrated that competition can go hand in hand with a spirit of brotherhood and sportsmanship. “Hopefully, the GP NasDem Padel Cup can continue to be an event that fosters a spirit of healthy living, strengthens ties, and cultivates positive competition,” he added. Going forward, it is hoped that similar activities will continue to be developed as part of efforts to encourage a more active and healthy society, while opening up spaces for cross-community collaboration through sport. “The hope is that the spirit of togetherness built through this sport can continue to grow and reach more people,” he concluded.
