Rajiv Boosts Home Renovation Programme for Bandung Regency Residents
House of Representatives (DPR) member Rajiv has expressed support for the liveable housing programme through the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) scheme. He stated that a decent home is a fundamental need that determines the safety, health, comfort, and future of a family.
"Seeing the happiness of the beneficiary community is a reminder for all of us that a proper home is not just a physical structure. A good home can provide a sense of security, comfort, and new hope for a family," Rajiv said in a written statement on Sunday (26/7/2026).
To support the programme, Rajiv said he also disbursed personal funds to provide an additional Rp 340 million for 17 beneficiary houses, ensuring the buildings use the best quality materials. He revealed this commitment during an inspection of the BSPS implementation attended by Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, and other central and regional government officials in Cilampeni Village, Katapang District, Bandung Regency, West Java, today.
"The government has provided assistance through the BSPS programme. I will also add personal assistance of Rp 20 million for each house so that the construction quality is better and the benefits can be felt optimally," Rajiv said.
The young NasDem Party politician further emphasised that his duties as a DPR member are not only to convey the people’s aspirations in parliamentary meetings but also to oversee the implementation of government programmes and deliver direct solutions for the community in his electoral district. "As a representative of the people of Bandung Regency, I have a responsibility to ensure that government programmes truly reach those in need," he stated.
According to information from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Bandung Regency received an allocation of 3,235 housing units under the BSPS scheme in 2026, spread across 31 sub-districts and 196 villages. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the 2025 allocation of just 35 units. Meanwhile, West Java Province received the largest national BSPS allocation in 2026, totalling 46,817 units.
Rajiv appreciated the increased allocation but stressed that the large number must be accompanied by strong oversight to ensure the assistance is precisely targeted and construction quality is maintained. "This increase in allocation is good news for the people of Bandung Regency. Our next task is to ensure that the assistance is given to residents who truly need it and that the house construction is carried out with good quality," he explained.
On the same occasion, the legislator, familiarly known as Kang Rajiv, also conveyed that his commitment does not stop at housing assistance. He will also advocate for a thematic aquaculture programme from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. The programme is planned as an effort to open new business opportunities, increase community productivity, and strengthen family income sources in Cilampeni Village and its surrounding areas.
"We will fight for the thematic aquaculture aspiration programme from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. The hope is that the community will not only have more decent homes but also gain the opportunity to develop businesses and increase family income," he said.
According to Rajiv, improving community welfare requires a comprehensive approach. Housing programmes must run in tandem with economic empowerment so that the community has a stronger and more sustainable foundation for life. "A decent home provides security, while business opportunities provide independence. Both must be pursued together so that the community’s standard of living truly improves," he concluded.
