Raising Rp 2.4 Trillion from Samurai Bond Issuance in Japan, Surge & Weave Expand FTTH Network
Digital infrastructure and connectivity issuer PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (Surge), through its subsidiary PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (WEAVE), has successfully issued Samurai Bonds worth Rp 2.4 trillion in the Japanese capital market. Hendrik Tee, President Director of PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem, stated that this achievement marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey, providing access to international funding markets and reflecting growing global investor confidence in the prospects of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure industry. “The successful issuance of this Samurai Bond is an international recognition of WEAVE’s business fundamentals, financial discipline, and good corporate governance,” Hendrik said in a statement on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. He added that the funding strengthens the company’s capital structure while broadening its access to global financing sources. With the support of international investors, WEAVE will accelerate the development of the national fixed broadband network, enabling more Indonesians to enjoy high-speed internet services with the best quality and affordable prices. He explained that the proceeds from the Samurai Bond issuance will be used for capital expenditure related to the construction, expansion, and maintenance of the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network, as well as other related telecommunications infrastructure, working capital needs, refinancing, and general corporate purposes. The bond issuance consists of two series: Japanese Yen Bonds – First Series (2026) worth JPY19.4 billion (approximately Rp2.2 trillion) with a 3-year tenor, and Japanese Yen Bonds – Second Series (2026) worth JPY2.0 billion (approximately Rp223 billion) with a 5-year tenor. The transaction was handled by Daiwa Securities Co. Ltd. as the sole arranger, sole bookrunner, and sole underwriter. The bonds will be listed on the Japanese market, with Mizuho Bank, Ltd. acting as the fiscal agent. Prior to the issuance, Japan Credit Rating Agency, Ltd. (JCR) assigned a standalone BBB+ Issuer Rating and BBB+ Issue Rating to WEAVE, without any guarantee or credit enhancement from the parent company or any third party.
