Rained All Night, Cibeber in Cilegon Hit by a 1.5-Metre Flood

Heavy rains that have drenched the Cilegon area in Banten since last night have inundated the Sambirata area in Cibeber, with water depths reaching 1.5 metres. Flooding in Sambirata, Cibeber, has occurred several times this year. Poor drainage exacerbates the problem, causing floodwater to inundate residents’ homes. “Heavy rainfall with poor drainage causes floodwater to inundate residents’ settlements,” said Damanhuri, Head of BPBD Cilegon, on Friday, 7 February 2026. According to BPBD records, about 320 people were affected by the floods. Some residents were evacuated to safer locations nearby. “At 07:20 WIB the floods were still inundating the settlements and some residents were still living in their homes,” he said. BPBD noted no fatalities from the floods in Cilegon. Officials are still compiling data on the damages suffered by residents. “Water levels reached 1.5 metres, casualties were nil, damages are still being assessed,” he added.
