Rain has fallen in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, and surrounding areas for two consecutive days.

According to detikKalimantan, observations on Tuesday (27 October 2026) showed that rain had fallen from the early hours of the morning until later in the morning, across Palangka Raya. The provincial capital had also experienced rain the previous day.

In East Kotawaringin Regency, meanwhile, rainfall varied in intensity, from drizzle to heavy showers accompanied by thunder. Residents reported rain in several parts of Sampit, including Kota Besi District and roads within the city.

Abi Setyo, a resident, said the rain in Kota Besi was quite heavy and accompanied by thunder. Heavy rain was also reported on DI Panjaitan and Juanda streets in Sampit.

The conditions prompted some motorists to stop and take shelter. “The rain was fairly heavy; I took shelter for five to ten minutes,” Abi said on Tuesday afternoon (27 October).

Rain was also reported around A Yani Street, near Keramat Market, and in several other locations in Sampit. However, rainfall intensity was not the same everywhere.
