The Jakarta Administration is forever calling rogue traders to
order for trading outside of areas set aside for them. The
railway company in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, used to provide
certain traders with kiosks within the station premises.

Traders said they were bewildered when their old kiosks were
demolished and replaced by new ones. They were even more
surprised when they found they were required to pay for these new
kiosks.

There is nothing they can do about it without forfeiting the
opportunity to trade there. The situation is aggravated by the
fact that they have to pay money to protection racketeers.
