Railway line at Gunung Sahari, Jakarta to be repaired soon

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta will soon repair the track geometry at the Jalan Gunung Sahari level crossing in Jakarta, specifically the stretch of track between Kampung Bandan Station and Kemayoran Station, on 9-10 March 2026.

“The repair of the track geometry forms part of infrastructure maintenance to preserve the reliability of the railway line, ensuring train journeys can operate safely and smoothly,” said Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, in Jakarta on Friday.

He said the repair work would be carried out in two stages, namely on 9 March 2026 from 22:00 to 03:30 WIB and 10 March 2026 from 22:00 to 03:30 WIB. The repair is performed annually as part of routine maintenance.

During the works, it is expected to affect traffic flow around the Jalan Gunung Sahari level crossing because in addition to the works activity, there will also be the placement of repair materials around the site.

Therefore, KAI urges the public and road users to exercise greater caution when crossing the crossing area and to follow the directions of on-site staff for everyone’s safety.

“The public is also advised to use alternative routes to avoid potential traffic congestion at the work site,” said Franoto.

He added that KAI remains committed to ongoing maintenance and improvement of infrastructure to support safe, secure and reliable railway operations.
