After the evacuation and repair process by the Daop 5 Purwokerto team in Central Java on Tuesday (7/4/2026) at 03.05 WIB, the railway line at Bumiayu Station in Brebes Regency was declared safe and operational again. The first train to pass through the location was the Karacibon Service freight train.

With the line now passable, train journeys have returned to normal and no longer need to be rerouted via the northern line. During the operational changes since yesterday, several trains originally scheduled for the southern line were diverted to loop through the northern line.

Previously, due to the disruption, two train services in Daop 4 were affected by cancellations: KA Kamandaka from Semarang to Purwokerto and one passing train, KA Joglosemarkerto from Purwokerto to Semarang-Solo. From these cancellations, 521 passengers cancelled their tickets as a result of the disruption.

The number of customers affected by the cancellation of KA Kamandaka was recorded as 521 passengers, with the breakdown of customers scheduled to board from the Daop 4 Semarang region as follows:

• Tegal Station (TG): 66 passengers

• Pemalang Station (PML): 83 passengers

• Pekalongan Station (PK): 77 passengers

• Weleri Station (WLR): 26 passengers

• Semarang Poncol Station (SMC): 203 passengers

• Semarang Tawang Station (SMT): 66 passengers

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, stated that passengers who cancelled their tickets would receive a 100% refund.

“As a form of commitment to customer service, KAI Daop 4 Semarang applies ticket refund provisions for customers affected by changes in train operating patterns or cancellations due to track obstructions (Rinja),” said Luqman on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

The service provisions for ticket refunds for affected customers are as follows:

“We extend our apologies for the inconvenience experienced by customers due to the operational disruption. KAI Daop 4 Semarang will continue to strive to provide the best service and ensure customers receive their service rights in accordance with applicable provisions,” said Luqman.

Previously, due to the KA Bangunkarta derailment, the railway line was completely paralysed since Monday (6/4) at 14.15 WIB.

Several train journeys to the KAI Daop 8 Surabaya region experienced additional travel time.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang, Central Java, took anticipatory and coordinative measures.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 5 Purwokerto, Central Java, prepared 10 bus units to evacuate passengers of the KA Bangunkarta from Jombang to Pasar Senen.

Three carriages of the KA Bangunkarta train from Jombang to Pasar Senen derailed at the Bumiayu platform in Brebes, Central Java, on Monday (6/4) at 14.15 WIB.

KAI implemented operational engineering by diverting several long-distance train services to loop through the Daop 2 Bandung region.

Occupancy rates above 100% on local trains indicate ongoing travel dynamics at various stations.

Support from the Public Service Obligation (PSO) scheme or government subsidies is a key factor maintaining high inter-city mobility trends in North Sumatra.

During the 22-day Lebaran transport period, from 11 March to 1 April 2026, Daop 3 Cirebon served 371,044 customers.

Acting Manager of Public Relations for KAI Division I North Sumatra, Anwar Yuli Prastyo, revealed that 9,480 seats are available daily to accommodate high public mobility.
