Railway carriages in Malang begin preparation for Eid 2026 transport

Railway workers have begun cleaning and preparing Gajayana Tambahan carriages at Malang Station in East Java for operation as Eid 2026 transport services. PT KAI Daop 8 is ensuring the readiness of its transport fleet for the Eid holiday period by providing a total of 136,045 seats across the Greater Malang region, which encompasses Malang Station, Kepanjen, Malang Kota Lama, Lawang, and Sumberpucung stations.

The transport operation will run from 11 March 2026 (ten days before Eid) to 1 April 2026 (ten days after Eid), covering both the outbound migration period and the return journey. The initiative aims to support the smooth operation, safety, and passenger comfort during the busy holiday travel season when millions of Indonesians travel to celebrate Eid with their families.
