Raid on International Online Gambling Headquarters in Hayam Wuruk, West Jakarta: 321 Foreign Nationals Arrested

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A building on Hayam Wuruk Street in West Jakarta, suspected to be the headquarters of an international online gambling network, was raided by the Directorate of General Criminal Crimes (Dittipidum) of Bareskrim Polri along with Polda Metro Jaya on Saturday (9/5/2026). During the raid, police arrested 321 foreign nationals suspected of being involved in cross-border online gambling operations. Director of General Criminal Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the building had been used as an operational centre for online gambling for about the last two months. “From the examination results, approximately two months. So, above that, it was purely used for online gambling operations,” Wira said during a press conference at the location on Saturday. Dozens of people were seen in front of computers, while others appeared to be being recorded and examined by officers. Inside the room, modern decorations were visible, including the phrases “Ora et Labora” and “Can’t, But We Can” on the walls, as well as a decorative plant in the middle of the room. Other photos showed Brimob personnel with tactical helmets and bulletproof vests guarding the office room entrance during the examination process. Police found cash in Vietnamese dong and US dollars. “The Vietnamese currency denomination is 53,820,000 dong, and the dollar denomination is 10,210,” he said. In addition to foreign currencies, police also seized Indonesian rupiah cash estimated at Rp 1.9 billion. “But certainly, for this rupiah money, it is estimated at around Rp 1.9 billion, if I’m not mistaken,” Wira stated.
