PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT), through RAIA Grid, is preparing an investment of approximately US$22 million to enter the graphics processing unit (GPU) manufacturing and assembly business in Indonesia. Initial production is targeted to commence in December 2026.

Deputy CEO and COO of Arsari Group Aryo Djojohadikusumo said the move marks RAIA Grid’s expansion from digital infrastructure into the manufacturing sector. The company will begin GPU assembly at the end of this year.

“The time has come for us to enter manufacturing and assembly in Indonesia. And today we will also announce that at the end of this year, in December 2026, we from IFT will begin in Indonesia this year as well,” he explained in Jakarta on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

Separately, RAIA Grid Director of Finance Hendra Purnama explained that the US$22 million investment constitutes capital expenditure (capex) for the semiconductor project. The investment forms part of two projects being prepared by the company. The second project involves subsea infrastructure worth approximately US$190 million for the first phase. Meanwhile, the semiconductor project is targeted to begin operations this year.

RAIA Grid Director of Technology Raden Rudi Wismanto said the product being developed adopts a GPU as a Service (GPUaaS) model using the NVIDIA GB300 platform. In the initial stage, production capacity is targeted to reach 140-150 GPU units per month.

The production facility is planned to be located in an industrial area around Jakarta, including Purwakarta. In developing the facility, RAIA Grid will partner with several parties, including Indosat Group as well as a number of technology equipment providers.

Hendra said the project is not only aimed at producing GPUs. The manufacturing development is also expected to build a supply chain and create new talent in Indonesia.

“This maps Indonesia as one of the AI ecosystems globally. So with our manufacturing here, it can position us as one of the countries capable of manufacturing GPUs,” Hendra explained.

According to Hendra, supply chain requirements will include casing, fibre, motherboards, and other supporting components. The company will also train workers to support the formation of a domestic GPU manufacturing ecosystem.

Currently, GPU manufacturing in Southeast Asia is said to exist only in Penang, Malaysia. With RAIA Grid’s entry into the GPU manufacturing and assembly business, Indonesia is expected to become not only an AI market but also part of the global AI production chain and ecosystem.
