Rai Wahyuni Inaugurates Child-Friendly Park and Reading Room at Pura Luhur Batukau
A warm and cheerful atmosphere enveloped the event as Ni Ketut Rai Wahyuni inaugurated the Child-Friendly Park and Bunda Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Reading Room in the Pura Luhur Batukau area, Wongaya Gede Village, Penebel Subdistrict, Tabanan, on Monday (4/5/2026). The Tabanan Bunda PAUD felt very close to the community, especially the children who welcomed her with enthusiasm and laughter.
The wife of Tabanan Regent I Komang Gede Sanjaya inaugurated the Child-Friendly Park and Bunda PAUD Reading Room, marked by ribbon-cutting and signing of the commemorative plaque, followed by a direct inspection.
“This facility is designed as an alternative space for the community who come to worship with their families so that the children still have a safe and enjoyable play and learning area,” said Rai Wahyuni.
The presence of this park is a tangible manifestation of Rai Wahyuni’s attention to child development, as well as an effort to create a child-friendly environment in public spaces based on culture and spirituality. Various educational facilities are available in the space, such as children’s reading books, swings, slides, seesaws, and merry-go-rounds.
With full affection, Rai Wahyuni sat together, read stories (storytelling), and invited the children to interact directly. The cheerful laughter and innocent responses of the children reflect the strong emotional closeness between Rai Wahyuni and the early childhood generation.
Not only that, Rai Wahyuni also distributed Supplementary Feeding (PMT) containing powdered milk, liquid milk, biscuits, apples, and boiled eggs to 50 children as a form of attention to children’s health and nutrition. Stationery kits were also given as prizes for the question-and-answer interaction session with the children.
The event then continued with joint worship at Beji and Pura Luhur Batukau, adding a spiritual nuance to the series of activities.
Rai Wahyuni emphasised that her presence was not just to inaugurate the facility, but also to directly observe the development of children in the area.
“Today is very joyful, especially seeing the children here; the place is getting better, the park has been inaugurated by Bunda,” said Rai Wahyuni.
Rai Wahyuni also delivered an important message to parents to be wiser in accompanying child development, especially in the use of technology. She encouraged limiting gadget use for children and urged them to be more active in playing and reading.
“Now the park is very good; if possible, utilise this park, not only during worship; it is open freely at any time. However, I ask everyone here to jointly maintain it, keep the play equipment, keep the books, everything must be maintained together so it doesn’t get damaged quickly,” requested Rai Wahyuni.
The presence of the Child-Friendly Park and Reading Room is not just a physical facility, but also a symbol of care and closeness of Bunda Rai as Bunda PAUD with the community. Through direct touch and warm interactions, she continues to instil the importance of early childhood education in a cheerful and enjoyable atmosphere.
