Rahmad Pribadi Leads Pupuk Indonesia to Win Four BUMN Awards
PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero)’s commitment to strengthening industrial efficiency and good corporate governance (GCG) has received public recognition at the 2026 BUMN Awards. The efforts to strengthen efficiency and governance at Pupuk Indonesia are seen as supporting the competitiveness of the fertiliser industry and the long-term food self-sufficiency programme.
In recognition of these strategic initiatives, Chief Executive Officer Rahmad Pribadi was awarded The Best CEO Visionary Leadership in the BUMN and BUMN-listed Subsidiary category. Additionally, the company corporately secured three further awards: First place for Best Growth Strategy; First place for Best Strategic Collaboration; and Second place for Best Organisational Transformation.
“For Pupuk Indonesia, business transformation is a necessity through factory revitalisation improvements coupled with the strengthening of corporate governance as the foundation for maintaining company performance, and most importantly to strengthen the contribution to Indonesia’s food self-sufficiency sustainability,” said Rahmad Pribadi.
The Best CEO Visionary Leadership award was presented to Pupuk Indonesia’s Chief Executive Officer Rahmad Pribadi in recognition of his leadership in strengthening efficiency and optimising production. This includes the construction and revitalisation of seven factories over the next five years; ensuring security of fertiliser raw material supplies; and strengthening distribution capabilities and networks across all regions of Indonesia.
In addition, Pupuk Indonesia is preparing a number of strategic development measures in the coming years, including portfolio expansion and diversification such as the development of methanol and its derivatives; clean ammonia business development; industrial support business development, and others.
At the same time, these various strategic initiatives are aimed at strengthening Pupuk Indonesia’s role in supporting more effective national subsidised fertiliser management, both in terms of distribution and production efficiency. This is in line with Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2026, which is an amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 6 of 2025. Through the efficiency achieved, the government for the first time in history reduced the Maximum Retail Price (HET) of subsidised fertiliser by 20% in October 2025.
Pupuk Indonesia’s ability to balance business growth and the implementation of the government mandate to ensure the availability and affordability of subsidised fertiliser for farmers also led the company to secure First place for Best Growth Strategy.
In the Best Strategic Collaboration category (First place), Pupuk Indonesia was recognised for successfully strengthening strategic collaboration to improve the company’s global competitiveness. Examples include strategic cooperation with PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG) to strengthen the urea and ammonia supply chain, cooperation with Somiphos from Algeria to strengthen phosphate raw material supplies, and others.
Additionally, Pupuk Indonesia actively participates in various international industry forums, including as a permanent board member of the International Fertiliser Association (IFA), serving as a resource person in global forums such as the Argus Fertiliser Asia Conference and the United Nations climate forum Conference of the Parties (COP).
Meanwhile, the Second place award for Best Organisational Transformation was presented in recognition of Pupuk Indonesia’s success in implementing organisational transformation and sustainable human resource (HR) development. Through various transformation initiatives, Pupuk Indonesia continues to strengthen organisational capability whilst building an adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive work culture.
In addition to Pupuk Indonesia, a number of subsidiaries and subsidiary leaders also won awards at this event. PT Petrokimia Gresik’s Chief Executive Officer Daconi Khotob received the Best CEO Visionary Leadership award for BUMN Subsidiaries. Meanwhile, PT Petrokimia Gresik and PT Pupuk Kujang won Best Company Growth Strategy awards, and PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur received the Best Company Business Innovation award.
“This award is an incentive for us to continue improving efficiency, strengthening governance, enhancing performance, and ensuring that Pupuk Indonesia Group can continue to contribute to supporting food self-sufficiency and national economic development,” said Rahmad.
The BUMN Awards, which have been held for 15 years, serve as a platform for appreciation of BUMN Companies and Subsidiaries, whilst also functioning as an instrument to promote the strengthening of governance, optimisation of state assets, BUMN synergy, and economic value creation. In this year’s implementation, corporate governance was one of the key evaluation focuses to encourage and provide appreciation to BUMNs that demonstrate compliance with regulations, implement institutional reform, and provide strategic impact for national development.
