Ragunan Zoo Provides 27 Parking Spots to Accommodate Rising Eid Holiday Visitors
Jakarta — The management of Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta has provided 27 parking spaces to accommodate the anticipated surge in visitors during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijra holiday break.
“The management has prepared substantial supporting infrastructure, including 27 additional parking plot locations within the zoo compound,” said Endah Rumiyati, Head of Ragunan Zoo Operations Unit, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.
She stated that the available parking facilities can accommodate up to 5,500 cars and approximately 20,000 motorcycles, which is expected to enhance visitor comfort whilst pursuing the visitation target.
“The additional parking spaces are intended to support visitor comfort during the targeted visitation period,” Endah explained.
Ragunan Zoo has adopted the theme “Fun Eid at Ragunan, Spreading Love Through Animals, Pursuing Blessings” during this year’s Eid al-Fitr holiday. The theme represents the philosophy of the Eid atmosphere as a moment to foster compassion towards animals as part of efforts to attain blessings in life.
The figure reflects the management’s optimism based on historical data from 2025, when the total number of visitors during the 14-day Eid al-Fitr holiday period reached 610,416 people, or an average of approximately 43,000 visitors per day.
In accordance with the Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) Number 63 of 2018 concerning Optimisation of Activities and Visitor Management at Tourist Sites on Certain Days, operational visits will commence on the second day of Eid al-Fitr (H+1), whilst on the first day of Eid, the tourist site will be closed to the public.
Ragunan Zoo is located in South Jakarta and spans 147 hectares with more than 2,009 animals and over 20,000 trees. Currently, entrance ticket prices for Ragunan are set at IDR 4,000 for adults and IDR 3,000 for children.
